History
PleaseWakeMeUp "Wake" Idler was rezzed on October 3, 2006 and initially wasn't an artist, he mostly hung around Hollywood sailing his Flying Tako with the Starboard's Yacht Club.
He was initially contacted by his very close SL friend, Seeker Gray, to build a Forgotten Holocaust Memorial. Seeker purchased land for the memorial and Wake purchased a smaller neighboring spot for his first gallery, the Throwing Stones Gallery.
Wake had initially resisted building in SL, afraid it would lead to scripting, which he wanted to avoid for personal reasons. But the lure of the memorial, in which he has a personal interest, proved too great and soon large panes of glass were erected around a pair of gardens. Seeker Gray purchased a Sasun Steinbeck Morphing Sculpture and Wake placed this at the center of the memorial.
But work stalled on the project as Wake started creating his Liminals, half a dozen or more panes of glass with RL or SL images on them.
Morris Vig was invited to the gallery and he soon had two Liminals at Oyster Bay.
Frustrated with the stalled project, Seeker Gray fired Wake. Around this time, he met the blues musician Komuso Tokugawa at an Oyster Bay concert and Komuso told him to seek out Filthy Fluno, of Artropolis.
Filthy invited Wake to become an Artropolis Artist and Wake left the crumbling memorial and gallery behind. Wake was impressed with the nature of being in an Artist Colony, he enjoyed the serendipitous conversations that he would have with others. He formalized this with his weekly Art Talk discussion group.
